Start a new game and share the invite link via WhatsApp, iMessage, or any other app. You can also show a QR code — your friend scans it and joins instantly. There are no friend lists or public lobbies by design.
Each round, you and your friend each submit a word independently. If you both write the same word, you win. If not, you see both words and try again next round — hopefully using the previous words as hints to converge.
There's no time limit — play at your own pace. If needed, you can abandon a game from the match options menu (the ··· button inside the game).
Yes — you can have as many active games as you like, each with a different friend.
SayTheSame uses Sign in with Apple. You can hide your real email — we only need a unique ID to keep your games in sync across your devices.
Go to Profile → Delete Account inside the app. All your data — alias, games, words, push token — is permanently deleted immediately. This action cannot be undone.
Only what's needed to run the game: your Apple ID, display name, game history, and push notification token. We don't collect location, contacts, or browsing data. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.
Yes — go to your Profile tab and tap your alias to edit it.
Make sure notifications are enabled in iOS Settings → Notifications → SayTheSame. If they're on but still not arriving, try signing out and back in to refresh your push token.
Make sure you have the latest version of SayTheSame installed. If the link opens a webpage, tap the "Open SayTheSame" button on that page.
Pull down on the matches list to force a refresh. If the issue persists, close and reopen the app.
